''TOUR OF THE GODS' SUMMARY

This hiking tour offers the greatest experience of Mount Olympus, as this circular long route, visits and lets you discover most of the well known sight-seeings, in just 2 days.

Highlights of this tour, traversing the narrow Zonaria trail, passing below the Throne of Zeus (the rock face that its shape resembles to a throne and where ancient Greeks imagined that Zeus was sitting on his Olympus Palace), the amazing sunrise from the Mouses Plateau, Profitis Ilias peak, the narrow and breathtaking ridge of Laimos, visiting most of the eastern-side Olympus refuges and more.

We will spent a night in one of the Mouses Plateau refuges which will give us the opportunity to rest and prepare for the next day. The first day is demanding, but rewarding. A long way uphill to reach Mouses Plateau in the same day, but we will brake the distance and make a good stop at Spilios Agapitos refuge to replenish our energy levels, before we continue for the rest of our tour. Moreover our guide will pace you and try to match your effort as close to your physical abilities and fitness level as he can.
Second day is again a long one, but this time we are descenting, which makes it easier! Our day will begin by summiting Profitis Ilias peak (2803m), a relatively easy to hike peak as it is in a short distance from our refuge. There is an orthodox small church on its top and the view is amazing. Again on our final way down, we will brake the distance in half and make a good rest stop in Petrostrouga refuge (1950m). Our route will continue descending until we reach the other major trail-head, Gortsia (1140m), from where we will pick up our car to drive back to Litochoro.
